Bruce Chandler is a state representative for the 15th Legislative District, which includes the Lower Yakima and Moxee Valleys as well as all of Skamania and Klickitat Counties and Eastern Clark County. He was elected to his first term in 1999 and currently serves on several legislative councils. He is the ranking Republican on the State Government and Tribal Affairs Committee, as well as Appropriations, Commerce and Labor and the Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and Audit Review.
This year Rep. Chandler was a leading voice for the anti-gang bill which passed the Legislature overwhelmingly. He was outspoken against public financing of political campaigns, and supported a bill that, if passed, would have recorded executive sessions in local government. When he’s not busy in Olympia, he owns and operates a commercial fruit orchard near Granger. He and his wife Julie have three grown children.
